The Arctic Leaders Summit (ALS) is a high-level political gathering of indigenous leaders in the Arctic.

So far, there have been five ALS, the first in 1991 and the most recent in 2010. The Indigenous Permanent Participant Organizations in the Arctic Council have called for the need to invite to an Arctic Leaders’ Summit again. The Saami Council has agreed to host the 6th Arctic Leaders’ Summit in November 2019.

The project is owned by Saami Council but developed and carried out in close cooperation with the other Indigenous peoples' organizations having the status as permanent participants within the Arctic Council.

The ALS will result in a joint statement/declaration that will outline Arctic Indigenous leaders priorities in future Arctic policy that will inform Arctic states and regional policymakers.
