North Entrepreneurs

This project is about addressing the need for local innovation in the bioeconomy of the Artic, following a previous NORA & ACP co-funded study on food a tourism industry in the North Atlantic. North Entrepreneurs-project will focus on barriers & policies regarding North Atlantic bioeconomy innovation. The background of North Entrepreneurs is a need for local innovation in the bioeconomy of the Arctic and other regions in the Nordic countries where agriculture and fisheries have for long been key employment and livelihood sectors.

Three major workshops are planned and among the things to address are important themes on local innovation in the field of bioeconomy, with studies in the Faroese Island, Greenland, Iceland, and Norway and looks at barriers to local bioeconomy innovation in the Arctic. The results of this work will be promoted at the COP26 event and developed into a policy recommendation.
