Growing opportunities in Klaksvík

In 1990, the economic crisis hit Klaksvík hard. But miraculously just within couple of decades this small town has bounced back with its historically high population. The reason for recovery has mainly been the blossoming fishing industry, but also new housing polices and connecting tunnel to the main island, as well as the new experience economy bring which brings jobs to this town.

Klaksvík is the major township among 12 others in Norðoyar county located on one of the northern Islands in the Faroese archipelago. These towns and villages inhabit all together almost 6000 people.

Even though it is a small place in the Faroe Islands, in the recent year, it has been growing in population and migration as well as in the economy.
