Our third 5G matchmaking event will take place on the 16th of June, from 14-15.30 CET. The spotlight will be on 5G in industry!
5G for Smart Societies – 5G in Industry: Exploring the Potential
Join us on the 16th of June for Nordregio’s next 5G matchmaking event, where we will delve into the topic of 5G and its impact on industry. As digital transformation continues to shape different sectors, 5G emerges as a game-changer for the development of smart societies. We will specifically focus on its potential in driving innovation within the Nordic and Baltic countries.
One notable example comes from Norway, where an industry forum was established to facilitate dialogue between industry, the public sector, and the telecom sector. The Norwegian Communications Authority has been offering Norwegian businesses the unique opportunity to test 5G frequencies free of charge, resulting in innovative and sustainable 5G solutions being developed on local networks. We will explore the valuable lessons learned from this pioneering initiative.
In Sweden, 5G and edge computing are being tested in the mining industry to enhance operations, automation, and safety. The 5G Edge Innovations for Mining pilot project brings together academic institutions, research institutes, SMEs, and industrial companies, aiming to demonstrate the potential of 5G-connected drones, AI technologies, and edge-to-cloud applications. We will dive into their collaboration challenges, advantages, and barriers encountered while utilizing 5G-powered technologies in the mining sector.
Furthermore, we will gain insights from Detecon, a German company specializing in helping businesses leverage the full potential of 5G for industry digitalization. They will share their expertise on 5G as a key enabler for unlocking new possibilities in industrial settings.
Don’t miss this opportunity to hear about these exemplary cases, network with industry experts, and showcase your own 5G matchmaking needs. Join us on the 16th of June to be part of this dynamic event!
