The Nordic countries are often placed at the top of global rankings on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) achievement. This is evident in the annual Sustainable Development Report (formerly the SDG Index & Dashboards), which assess countries' progress towards the SDGs. Much of the success stems from long-standing sustainability policies and governance in the Nordic countries – at national and local levels. Still, there are many SDG targets that are difficult to meet also in the Nordic countries, including sustainable consumption and climate targets. Through a series of six webinars, Nordregio facilitated learning and discussions between Nordic municipalities on five featured SDGs plus the issue of monitoring and evaluation.
